Corinna BS world tour Glam Italy spent some time here in the summer. Panarea is very glamorous, and completely and utterly gorgeous.

this delicious island on the North coast of Sicily has been most elegant summer in the Mediterranean. 
but it's not about out making neighbors, or flashy displays of wealth. It is not the club scene in Ibiza, and you'll probably ( hopefully !) never see Lindsay or Paris here.

Panarea is a safe haven from the overbuilt vacation destinations. 

if anything it is underbuilt. Beautiful private homes on the streets with no street lights, no cars and no goals, heady with frangipani and lemons, hibiscus flowers and wild Cactus, it's an island that you get on foot, the locals often navigate the winding cobblestoned paths barefoot.

small villages such as San Pietro, Ditella and Drauto has the island's few shops. 

here you can buy the highly coveted custom made sandals with colored straps that wind up the leg or batik fashion found on Raya boutique. There is no designer boutiques here, even if great designers name products by the island.

you can, however, see some pretty amazing designers visit the island. Dolce and Gabbana comes from their home on nearby Stromboli, Giorgio Armani can find the it from his home on Mortgage bad ria on his super yacht. 

Princess Caroline comes by on her yacht Pacha III, and there are always a handful of mega models and actors at that other yacht owners pulling in for the evening.

Panarea is charming, and very, very quiet.

the best way to swim here is of a boat

there are not very many beaches , and they are a significant trip to get to, but if you have access to a boat, swimming on the coast of Panarea is one of the most amazing experiences ever. The water feels even soft and luxurious and the view is just amazing.

Panarea feels like a decadent secret hiding place, the loveliest of the escapes.
